The Most Well-Preserved Discovery
In their glacial excavation adventures, it is pretty common for scientists to find woolly mammoths stuck in ice. This massive beast goes way back into the prehistoric era and roamed the Arctic lands of Siberia as well as Alaska. Recently, a beautiful specimen of the giant creature was unearthed from a tomb of ice in Siberia. It was said to have lived 39,000 years ago.

Despite its extremely old age, the mammoth was so well preserved that the scientists who exhumed it have made the bold claim that their find is one of the best-preserved relics ever. The fossil even had blood in its veins, and its muscle tissues were still intact. Indeed, it is in such pristine condition scientists are beginning to consider the possibility of cloning the beast (clearly they haven’t watched Jurassic Park enough times). Its remains were found in an archipelago in Northern Russia called the Novosibirsk islands.
