My name is Forrest Gump
One of the most iconic lines in the movie that people loved so much was “My name is Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump.” It wasn’t originally part of the script and Tom Hanks just ad-libbed it. Zemeckis, the film director, ended up loving it so much kept it in the final cut.
Forrest says the popular line during a scene with Bubba, who he is meeting for the first time in a bus on the way to join the army. While the film wouldn’t have turned out much differently without Hanks’ ad-lib, we’re definitely glad they decided to keep it.
