According to studies done by experts, the likelihood of having a multiple-birth pregnancy increases when the mother is either taller than average, overweight, gets pregnant through fertility treatments or gets pregnant while breastfeeding. As it turns out, both Nia and Robert’s families have histories of multiple births, giving Nia higher chances of having multiple-birth pregnancies.
Still, the odds of giving birth to one child, then twins, then triplets was still very unlikely. This was something that had never happened to any of Robert or Nia’s relatives. At this point, only Nia and her doctors knew about the triplets – she now had to tell Robert.
