Robert and Nia Tolbert were just like any other young couple.
After a few years together, they welcomed their first child – a healthy baby boy – in 2011. The couple finally decided to get married a few years later and Nia soon fell pregnant a second and then a third time.
While the second pregnancy was a fairly normal one, the couple never could have anticipated that the third pregnancy would be so unusual it would actually make the news. It was so surprising, in fact, that Robert even fainted when the truth of it was revealed to him.
While parents really need to be ready for anything, no amount of forethought could have prepared Robert and Nia for the strange series of events that unraveled. What was so special about this pregnancy that it caught the attention of medical experts around the world?

Love At First Sight
Robert and Nia’s relationship began in 2007. They were introduced to each other by mutual friends and instantly hit it off. It was love at first sight, and it didn’t take long before their casual dates blossomed into a nurturing relationship.
Like all couples, Robert and Nia had their highs and lows. However, they were absolutely committed to each other and were determined to make their relationship work. In 2011, they received some exciting news, and from that moment on, they knew that their lives would never be the same again.
Becoming A Family Of Three
After four years of dating, Robert and Nia discovered that they would soon become parents. Nia was pregnant, and the two were absolutely thrilled. After finding out about the pregnancy, Robert and Nia started preparing for what was to become an exciting new chapter in their relationship.
Nia soon gave birth to a healthy baby boy who the couple named Shai. Although they were both young and inexperienced, Robert and Nia handled parenthood with finesse. They worked hard and did everything they could to give their child the best life possible.
