River Phoenix Was A Close Pal
Both Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix were rising stars in the 90s. They became really good friends in 1993 as they shot the movie My Own Private Idaho. Sadly, though, Phoenix passed away that same year from a drug-related heart problem. He was in a nightclub when the tragedy occurred.
Reeves shared that River Phoenix was a wonderful actor and a unique human being. While he said that he misses the actor every day, he does not blame Hollywood for the death of his friend. He knew that Phoenix’ personal demons were responsible for his early demise.
