His First Acting Partner Was Rob Lowe
Young Keanu Reeves’ appearance in the hockey film, Youngblood, starring Rob Lowe was a big deal to him. The movie was filmed in Canada and was Keanu’s first important role. According to the actor, that gig made a serious impact on his acting career.
How, you ask? His role in the movie may have been small, but it endowed him with a huge amount of confidence that allowed him to go to Hollywood in the hope of starting a career in acting. It was 1969 when he drove away in his 1969 Volvo, leaving Canada behind for the bright lights and enticing promises of Los Angeles. He acted in a few small roles here and there and eventually got cast for Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. The rest, as we all know, is Hollywood history.
