Success Matters More Than Salary
Keanu Reeves is so passionate about acting that he sometimes willingly forfeits a chunk of his salary to contribute to a film’s success. For instance, he took a million dollar pay cut just so producers could have Al Pacino on board for the film, The Devil’s Advocate. The next time you watch that movie, remember to thank Keanu for making it possible to have Pacino play the devil.
And it didn’t end there: Keanu took a whopping 90 percent pay cut from his salary in the 2000 film, The Replacements, to allow Gene Hackman to join the project. Without a doubt, Keanu is a gem in the industry. Rarely do we get actors that are so passionate about art that they are willing to give up money just to make it more successful.
