Casting Agents Did Not Like His Name
Keanu seriously considered changing his name when he first came to Los Angeles in the 1980s as casting agents found it too exotic and difficult to pronounce. Keanu is a Hawaiian name which refers to the cool breeze that flows from the mountains.
Among his choices were “Page Templeton III” and “Chuck Spadina,” but he ultimately decided to stick with his own name since he was able to get the acting gigs anyway. I personally think he made the right decision. Keanu Reeves sounds so much better than Page Templeton III.
