He Writes, Too
As if Keanu wasn’t already amazing enough, he apparently writes poems too. After the release of the “Sad Keanu meme,” a viral photo of him sitting alone on a bench eating a sandwich, he wrote a poem entitled “Ode to Happiness.” The composition was meant to poke fun at himself, with lines including “I draw a hot sorrow bath,” and, “I wash my hair with regret shampoo.”
What was supposed to be a simple, funny gesture turned into an actual publication when his friend, Janey Bergman, decided to surprise Keanu with a special gift. For six months, Bergman worked with illustrator Alexandra Grant to produce an actual grown-up picture book based on his poem. German publisher Gerhard Steidl printed a limited run of 4,000 copies of the book.
