During the 1990s, Keanu’s sister was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. This inspired the actor to run a foundation that funds various children’s hospitals and research organizations for cancer. Did we mention that his foundation is kept private? Unlike other celebrities, Keanu doesn’t feel the need to plaster his name all over his charity work.
In a 2009 interview, Keanu explained that he owns and runs a private foundation that has been helping children’s hospitals and cancer research organizations for more than five years, but he chooses not to attach his name to it and instead lets the foundation do what it does without gaining any recognition for himself from it.
