Long Island Sound is an estuary, meaning it is a place where fresh water from the river and saltwater from the ocean mix together. It is located on the eastern coast of the Bronx and Westchester County in New York and is about 110 miles long.
It is also about 21 miles at its widest point, with a depth varying from 65 to 230 feet. Given its proximity to the North Atlantic, the water in the estuary is very cold. The baby deer wasn’t aware of the dangers that it faced when it dove into the water, and it’s quite lucky that Storm came along to save the day.
