Iran’s rich history and culture are not only evident in its intricately-designed carpets, but also in its love for poetry, literature, art, and classical music. Some of the world’s most renowned poets and novelists are from Iran, and their works continue to be celebrated around the world.
Iran’s modern and contemporary art scene, which began in the 1940s and 1950s, is currently thriving. Iran’s rich art heritage can also be seen in its architecture, with lush gardens that serve as a reflection of paradise on earth. The English word “paradise,” in fact, has its roots in the Old Persian word paridaida, which means “walled garden.”
