The Sunshine State
Florida is the Spanish word for “land of flowers.” It was so named by Juan Ponce de Leon in honor of the Spanish festival, Pascua Florida, meaning “feast of the flowers.” The economy of the state relies mostly on tourism. It is known for its amusement parks, orange crops, and winter vegetables. It is home to the famous Kennedy Space Center as well.
To many people, Florida is considered the armpit of the United States. Why, you ask? Well, because it is home to a plethora of bizarre happenings. Knowing Florida, this guy could be a millionaire, the CEO of a successful company, or your friendly local meth cook. Anything is possible in the sunshine state!
