Nebraska, The Cornhusker State
If you find that surfing at sea does not quite excite you as much anymore, then head to Nebraska where you can surf to your heart’s desire at a corn silo. Once again, not making this up. In a place where corn supply is astonishingly abundant, it comes as no surprise that people find creative and ingenious ways to make the most of what they’ve got.
While corn is abundant in the state, their favorite food does not have it as an ingredient. Runza is a dish made of ground beef and cabbage stuffed into a pastry shell. It is named after the restaurant of the same name where the dish was invented. There are 82 Runza franchises all up, and 77 of them are located in Montana. The rest are in Iowa (two branches), Kansas (two branches), and Colorado (one branch).
