Maryland, the Merry Land of Crabs
It seems almost every citizen of Maryland is obsessed with crabs. To Marylanders, catching, preparing, and eating crabs is a way of life. And understandably so: these crustaceans taste amazing no matter how they are prepared. Whether you prefer them with melted butter, tartar sauce, lemon juice, crab is just incredibly delicious. Among the many different types of crabs, the state is most famous for the Chesapeake Bay natives, the Blue Crabs.
Additionally, Marylanders find it satisfying to be able to successfully get to all the meat inside the tricky shells. If you are a first-timer, you will definitely find it a little challenging to eat. Apparently, there is a perfect angle at which you should hit the crab claw to expose its juicy meat. Once you’ve mastered the art, it gets pretty satisfying to do. And let’s be honest, it’s fun to get down and dirty as you whack a crab open.
