The First State
The state of Delaware was the first to approve the Constitution of the United States, thereby becoming the country’s first official state. It is the second smallest in size but is the sixth most populous. The tiny state is divided into just three counties (New Castle County, Kent County, and Sussex County), the lowest among all states. It also has a sister state called Miyagi Prefecture which is located in Japan.

Delaware holds countless festivals all throughout the year, which is great for tourism. Among its most famous ones are the Riverfest, the World Championship Punkin Chunkin, the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival, and the Bethany Beach Jazz Funeral. What will make any tourist want to visit even more, however, is the fact that in Delaware, you can shop to your heart’s desire without worrying about tax. Yes, in this state, shopping is completely tax-free!
