Louisiana, The Party State
New Orleans, Louisiana is known as “The Big Easy,” mainly for its chill lifestyle that is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of other cities. Its cuisine is influenced by its early French ancestors, and its architecture is a unique blend of French and Spanish masonry buildings and “shotgun houses,” or houses that are built to fit the city’s narrow lots.

In New Orleans, it is not difficult for a visiting tourist to gain ten pounds over the course of one day. The selection of food is just to die for: their shrimp gumbo is tasty as hell, po’ boy sandwiches are incredibly delicious, and the beers, as this sign so eloquently establishes, are “huge ass.” Parties go for hours on end here as well, extending well into the next day.
