The Bluegrass State, Part 2
Just last year, thousands of teachers from Kentucky protested at the state Capitol due to the passage of many changes to the public pension system and budget cuts to the public education system. For more than a month public teachers flocked to the Capitol complex to stop the unfair pension changes and budget cuts. What angered them more was how the state made them feel as if they were worthless to the community.
The official state motto of Kentucky is “United we stand, divided we fall.” But dare I say, this “You honk, we drink” sign is just as good. I personally think it’s a clever slogan and is effective in conveying their message. Though the astute among you may notice those are Australian flags lurking in the background here, not American ones.
