Every American State Summed Up In A Single Photograph

The Hoosier State, Part 2
Indiana’s motto, “Crossroads of America” is attributed to its Interstate Highway. It has more miles than any other state. This motto can be traced back to the 1800s when riverboats were a major mode of transportation. Back then, two main roads – the National Road and the Michigan Road – both crossed Indianapolis. Today, the state holds the most major highway intersections in the country.

Quite frankly, there is not much to do in Indiana. I mean, just take a look at this family, for example. Looks like they can’t find anything worthwhile to do, so they just decided to have some fun by riding a tractor. Some of them don’t look all that impressed either. Despite the lack of fun activities to do here, Indiana is a treasure-trove for limestone. Deep below the Southern Indiana soil lies tons and tons of the stuff. Did you know that the Pentagon, the Rockefeller Center, the Empire State Building, and the US Treasury were all built from this very substance? Pretty neat, huh?
