The Natural State, Part 2
LGBTQ advocacy still has a long way to go for the people of Arkansas. Sadly, discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is not illegal in the state. Historically, Arkansas had laws that penalized homosexual acts. Same-sex marriage was also banned until it was finally legalized on June 26, 2015.
While I am all for freedom of expression, this massive sign is purely and tragically hateful. Sadly, it is also perfectly legal in Arkansas to deny jobs, housing, and any form of service to the LQBTQ community. There are no existing civil rights laws that protect them from discrimination.
