The Green Mountain State
While it is not clear as to where the name “Vermont” originated, some speculate that it was derived from the French words, Les Monts Verts, which means “the Green Mountains.” This makes sense as the Green Mountains (a mountain range) runs through the middle of the state.

What better way to beat the summer heat than to set up an inflatable pool in the backyard. Just watch out for unexpected visitors though. If your kids are cool sharing the pool with a bunch of moose, I guess it’s not an issue. In Vermont, it’s pretty common to see moose interacting with people, especially on the roads.
