The Sooner State
The word Oklahoma originated from the Choctaw words okla and humma, which translate to “red people.” Its nickname, “The Sooner State,” was made in reference to non-Native settlers staking their claims on the land even before the Indian Appropriations Act of 1889. The state consists of numerous prairies, forests, and ancient mountain ranges. It is third in the country in terms of most languages spoken, with over 25 Native American languages still flourishing within its bounds.

Just by looking at this picture, it is not surprising at all that Oklahoma also boasts the highest number of college dropouts. The state’s love for alcohol is unquestionable. Here you will find a keg bike, a vehicle that is commonly seen in the streets of the city. After all, if you live in a place where there is not much to do, you have to find ways to enjoy yourself.
