The Buckeye State
Ohio is the 34th largest state in the US and the seventh most populous. Its name originated from the Ohio River, whose name was derived from the Seneca word ohi:yo, which means “good river” or “large creek.” An industrial state, it is the second largest manufacturer of automobiles, next to Michigan.

The official state nickname is the “Buckeye State,” thanks to their buckeye trees. People from Ohio are known as “Buckeyes.” In this image, a few Buckeyes can be seen having way too much fun at a funeral. Spelling out the name of your state Y-M-C-A-style on a dance floor? Acceptable. At a funeral with the recently deceased being one of the letters? Well, I guess that’s okay in O-H-I-O!
