The Silver State
Nevada is officially called the “Silver State” due to the significance of silver to its history and economy. It is also famously known as the “Battle Born State” due to the fact that it achieved statehood during the Civil War. Back in 1940, the state only had a little over 110,000 residents and was considered the least-populated state. When gambling was legalized and marriage and divorce laws became lenient, Nevada transformed into one of the hottest tourist spots in the world. It is also the only state in the country where prostitution is legal.
Apparently, in Nevada, liquor, gambling, and even prostitution are allowed all day, every day. However, for some strange reason, in this land where countless nuclear tests were carried out in the desert, lobsters are strictly prohibited. Hmm. I wonder why?
