Every American State Summed Up In A Single Photograph

The Magnolia State
Casino gambling has been legal in Mississippi since 1990, a move made to help boost economic gains for the state. It has since attracted a good amount of tourism. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, Mississippi was the second largest gambling state in the US, next to Nevada. The state is also known to embrace many forms of art. The USA International Ballet Competition was established in the state, as well as the Magnolia Independent Film Festival. Musicians from the Delta region also contributed significantly to the progression of the blues genre.

While Mississippi is not exactly as famous as Memphis for its barbecue, the magnolia state is home to more competition-winning pitmasters than anywhere else in the country. In Mississippi, you’re never too far from a fired-up barbeque. They can even be found at random gas stations and roadside smokehouses.
