The Bayou State
Prior to being purchased by the Americans, the territory of Louisiana had been colonized by the French, and for a short period, the Spanish. Colonists imported hundreds of African slaves from West Africa as well. For many decades, the territory struggled to survive due to harsh climate conditions and unfertile soil. Both the colonists and slaves suffered from many tropical diseases. As the colonists kept importing slaves, the native African culture continued to influence the area.
Who needs a leash when you can just easily hold your pet by the tail? I don’t know if this is safe, but everybody in the picture looks pretty chill, so I guess there’s nothing to worry about. With a kid in the right hand and a pet gator in the left, this dad is ready to go walking.
