Mae West focused mainly on vaudeville and stage acts in New York before moving to Hollywood to become a comedian and actress. She is especially known for her sultry voice and for being involved in several controversies throughout her career.
West was one of Hollywood’s sex icons who got involved in wild romances and was adamant that she would never get married. She said that men were her favorite hobby and if she got married, then she would have to give that up.
