Straight-A Student
Matt was completely intrigued with Chauncy and kept inquiring about his life as they walked through the aisles of the grocery store. What was school like? How was his mom? Matt was pleasantly surprised to know that Chauncy was actually a straight-A student and was looking for a job to help his mom with the monthly rent. Matt’s intuition was right: there really was something special about this kid.
Chauncy was determined to make it big despite his living conditions. He had no plans of getting stuck in the vicious cycle of poverty. He set ambitious goals and had every intention of pursuing them, no matter the odds. As Chauncy kept sharing more about his life, Matt continued to be amazed by the kid’s unwavering conviction.
