Matt’s plan to get attention was a success: thousands of people were tuned in, waiting to learn more about Chauncy’s predicament. Matt’s next decision was a life-changer: he set up a GoFundMe account for people to donate to Chauncy’s cause. The page was complete with information about Chauncy’s clothing sizes (for donations) and a button that allowed people to donate money if they didn’t have clothes to spare.
Matt also posted an interview with Chauncy, wherein he shares his version of the experience at the grocery store and, once again, states that he’d love to get a job to support his momma. People could not help but be touched by the boy’s resilience and determination. Apparently, his life resonated with many others. Since then, financial assistance has been steadily pouring in.
