No Goodbyes
It was an unforgettable night for both Matt and Chauncy. Matt met an amazing human being who remained strong in the midst of adversity, and Chauncy met a kind-hearted man who offered a great amount of help even though he absolutely did not need to. At the register, Matt paid for the loads of goodies while all Chauncy could do was thank him profusely. Chauncy’s bus was arriving soon, so it was finally time for them to part ways. Or so Chauncy thought.
As Matt watched Chauncy walk toward his bus stop, he realized he could not let the kid go home alone. To Chauncy’s surprise, Matt called out his name and offered to drive him home so he wouldn’t have to deal with all those bags by himself on the bus. Chauncy humbly agreed. As Chauncy directed him to his home, Matt had no idea what he was about to walk into.
