The lynx is one of the rarest big cats in the world, meaning it also one of the most endangered. They’re most comfortable in very cold places, making the Alaskan wilderness a perfect environment for them to thrive in. Though not as big as their lion and tiger cousins, lynx are still majestic animals with a commanding presence.
The lynx kitten that paid Newton a visit that day was a Canadian species. Though they have a more healthy population compared to their Iberian counterparts, Canadian lynx still shy away from human contact, making sightings very rare.
