Along with many other wild animals, lynx are threatened by human ignorance. Illegal activities like trapping, lack of appropriate prey, and human encroachment on their habitats. Trapping, in particular, is one of the worst offenders in dragging down their population. By trapping lynx, the number of sexually mature members is greatly reduced, leaving them less able to successfully multiply in the wild.
By simply spreading awareness to the general public, lynx can hopefully continue to exist in the wild where they belong. These animals enjoyed peaceful lives until humans started abusing and destroying the environment. The damage, while it has been done, can still be reversed. With our help, the lynx’s survival is within the realms of possibility. It all comes down to how much we are willing to do.
