The mother lynx obviously knew when enough was enough. She herded the cubs and together they took off. Newton watched as the lynx family walked lazily back to the forest, still not knowing that one of the few creatures they shy away from, a human, was harmlessly admiring their every move.
“It makes me feel thankful – thankful for where I live. I’m thankful to have seen these lynx up close,” Newton said. The nature preserve has evidently been doing its job at preventing the lynx from going extinct. While their numbers are still far too low, it still beats having none at all.
