Lynx, like all cats, have very keen senses. Their eyes can see in the dark. Their ears can easily pick up sounds a human can’t. Their noses are sensitive to different scents. This is why big cats are known to be expert hunters in the wild. No prey can outwit them as their hunts are key to their survival.
So when one cub noticed Newton stealthily taking photos, he was able to capture the moment. The cub naturally became scared. Tim recalls, “the terror on that kittens face! His eyes were wide open, and he just flew away from me! But the others didn’t pick up on it.” Newton continued to take photos from the comfort and safety of his home.
