Pamela and Joe have not spoken to their son Kobe for over seven years after the legend found out that they, his mother, in particular, tried to auction off many of his personal items including championship rings, jerseys, and balls. According to sources, Pamela received $450,000 from Goldin Auction in exchange for items she had been storing for him.

When the auction had been announced, Kobe came out to say that not only was he not aware, but that his parents had no right to do so.
