The In-Sync team was baffled by the way things were progressing. They were doing everything they could to speed up Sheila’s recovery, but nothing seemed to make much of a difference. After several weeks of futile effort, they decided to consider the option of euthanasia.

Sheila’s existence had become tedious and painful. From eating to walking and doing other daily activities, even the most basic functions were problematic for her. The team felt that the most merciful step to take would be to end Sheila’s life peacefully.
