Despite having to face a difficult choice, the team didn’t want to give up and lose the lioness without a fight. Sheila was a gorgeous animal who was unlucky to have spent most of her life in captivity and they wanted to give her a chance to enjoy a new life of freedom and health.

Sheila was also physically beautiful, with white-blonde fur that made her distinct from other lions. This is probably the reason why she was worth so much to (and worked so hard by) her previous owner. This fur color was rare, seen only in the lionesses of South Africa and Timbavati. The team was getting ready to euthanize Sheila when they finally came across a spark of hope.
