On Thursday, R&B singer R. Kelly wrote to a federal judge and asked him to free him from a federal jail in Chicago, citing the novel coronavirus as a reason why he wants to leave. The singer is currently waiting for his trial on child pornography and other charges.
His lawyers claimed the spread of the disease behind the bars are putting Kelly’s life at risk.
