In 2016, Gabourney was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, and after talking to her brother, she decided to get laparoscopic bariatric surgery. She said, “I truly didn’t want to worry about all the effects that go along with diabetes. I genuinely [would] worry all the time about losing my toes.”

In May 2016, she went under the knife, and according to sources, she had more than 50 percent of her stomach stapled, reducing its size significantly.
