Bubba Gump
Bubba Gump Shrimp is a restaurant that opened in 1996. The successful restaurant chain now has 40 franchises operating worldwide. The first restaurant opened in Monterey, California and was run by Rusty Pelican Restaurants in partnership with Viacom.
The restaurant was inspired by the film, although it bears no connection at all, apart from the name and theme of the place. The Bubba Gump Shrimp Company was formed by Forrest in the film, an amalgam of his and his best friend’s names.
