A Change in Traffic
Chippewa Square is one of the most known squares in the city of Savannah. Its ideal location makes it nearny to just about everything, from cafés to beautiful architecture. It rose to prominence after being featured in the film as the backdrop for Forrest’s bus stop tales.
During filming of the movie, they had to reverse the traffic flow around Chippewa Square to allow the bus door to open into the square. The bench was originally placed on the square’s northern side, which has now been replaced by a garden.
