A Love for Dr. Pepper
During a scene where Forrest and his college teammates, meet President John F. Kennedy at the White House, he drinks 15 Dr. Peppers to show his appreciation for the hospitality and out of nervousness. When his teammates line up to meet the president, JFK asks them what it feels to be an All-American.
While Forrest’s teammates respond with respectful answers to the president’s query, when it comes time for Forrest to answer, he tells the president he needed to pee (understandable considering the amount of Dr. Pepper he downed). Narrating the tale later, Forrest says that the best part of meeting the US president was the amount of Dr. Pepper they got for free.
