In case you didn’t notice, every song featured in the film was from an American artist. This was in line with Forrest’s character as he never would’ve ventured beyond the music of his homeland. The soundtrack ended up quite successful, leaping from the 34th spot to 7th on the Billboard 200 Chart.
A week later, it jumped from the 7th spot to the 3rd spot and held that position for a week from the 6th of August, 1994. The soundtrack would eventually move to the 2nd spot on the 13th of August, keeping that place on the charts for seven weeks.
