Playing with Emotion
The film features a lot of heart-wrenching and touching scenes which can’t help but bring tears to the viewers eyes. Apparently, it wasn’t just a tearjerker for viewers, but for the actors too, including Tom Hanks who admitted to becoming emotional while playing the character.
While there are many scenes that can induce a tissue fest, one of the moments Hanks admits he cried in was the part where Lt. Dan introduces Forrest to his wife. Forrest saved the lieutenant during the war and the latter was initially bitter at Forrest for leaving him a cripple.
