As per reports, the assault occurred after Gaye got into an argument with his cousin and his wife regarding a previous assault. A source also informed the authorities that Gaye and his wife’s marriage has been ‘rocky’ and ‘they’ve been experiencing issues for a while now.’
He reportedly beat up both women and pointed a gun at them.

After having fled the scene, Gaye ‘came to the Sheriff’s station the next day around 5:00 PM and turned himself in.’
