Thompson’s hair got entangled in the belt and caused her severe injuries.
The woman was pronounced dead later that day at the hospital.

Thompson’s grieving mother said in a statement that her daughter was a wonderful himan being and a gifted basketball player who played at Hesston College in Kansas and Tougaloo College in Mississippi.
