The world has repeatedly been witness to the strength of the Indian Navy. Its roots can be traced back to the year 1612 when they played a significant role in protecting British merchants. They were still a British colony at the time and were considered the East India Company’s marine force more than their own.
Equipped with four mine warfare vessels, nine patrol crafts, 22 corvettes, 11 destroyers, 14 frigates, 16 submarines, and an aircraft carrier, the Indian Navy is built to be a great protector. They receive $47 billion for their defense budget, which has allowed them to accumulate over 295 naval assets over time.
