When the Indonesian Navy was established on September 10, 1945, it was a baby compared to the formidable maritime forces that already existed across the globe. But that did not stop them from thriving and they now have a total of 74,000 soldiers working to protect their coastlines.
Indonesia boasts a total of 221 naval assets with 74 patrol crafts, 12 mine warfare vessels, 24 corvettes, three submarines, eight frigates, and an overall defense budget of $6.9 billion.
