While she was only 12 years old, Zaya knew exactly who she was. So she came out as transgender, with her father, Dwyane Wade’s full support. To celebrate her 13th birthday, Dwyane wrote a very sweet and encouraging message.
He called her “the bravest,” as he showed his love for her: “I hope you feel all of my love today and everyday of your life. You’re Bold, You’re courageous, You are Zaya.”
